The two sold-out reunion shows for “The Adventures of Pete & Pete” were an absolute blast. This video is Danny and Joe playing the Polaris song “Summer Baby” which was featured in the the “Pete and Pete” episode, “Hard Days Pete.”

Huffington Post: The 7 p.m. Bowery show opened with a performance of the show’s grunge-pop theme song, “Hey Sandy.” Originally, the song was performed by the indie outfit Polaris. This time, the audience was treated to a reunion of The Blowholes, a band from the show fronted by Little Pete himself, Danny Tamberelli, on lead vocals and bass. (Tamberelli currently leads a jam band called Jounce).

Jounce is happy to announce that the band will be opening for Deer Tick at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ on Friday, April 20th. Join us.

Reunited for the first time ever, it’s Pete, Pete’s brother Pete, Ellen, Mom, Dad and Artie the Strongest Man in the World. Join the cast and the show’s creators for an evening of obsessive reminiscing about all things Pete. There will be a cast and crew panel discussion, an audience Q and A, classic clips and episodes, and much more. Don’t be a blowhole! Be there for the Petes’ only New York City appearance.

There has been some speculation on blogs like BrooklynVegan about a Jounce performance at the event. Alas, this is not the case, however we may have something special in store for the fans who weren’t able to get tickets. Stay tuned!

We are excited to announce that Jounce will open for the Meat Puppets at Mexicali Live in Teaneck, NJ on Sunday, November 6th. Many of you may be familiar with the Meat Puppets from when members and brothers Cris and Kurt Kirkwood served as guest musicians on Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged performance in 1993 and Meat Puppets songs “Plateau”, “Oh Me” and “Lake of Fire” were played.

Our good friends Dear Lions (featuring former Jounce roommate and frequent collaborator James Preston) will be joining us, as well as some other special guests. Jounce To Release “Meet Me in the Middle” April 4th, 2011

(New York, NY) – Jounce is pleased to announce the release of “Meet Me in the Middle” on April 4^th, 2011. The five-song EP comes on the heels of the band’s well-received 2009 release, “These Things,” and their 2006 self-titled debut.

“Meet Me in the Middle” in some ways reflects a return to Jounce’s guitar “power trio” roots. Recorded at Site Y in Brooklyn, New York, the album was self-produced by the band, mixed by Bob Suede (Richie Havens) and mastered by Marco Centola (Dawes, Kiddusi).

Jounce — Danny Tamberelli on bass and vocals, Matt DeSteno on guitar and vocals, Joe Ciarallo on drums and vocals – has stayed busy recording and touring throughout 2010 and 2011. Bass player Danny Tamberelli is a regular in Richard Lloyd of Television’s touring band, and Jounce recently took part in a compilation album project, “Ciao My Shining Star: The Songs of Mark Mulcahy” to benefit singer / songwriter Mark Mulcahy of Polaris and Miracle Legion, alongside Thom Yorke of Radiohead and Frank Black of the Pixies.

“Meet Me in the Middle” contains the version of Miracle Legion’s “The Heart is Attached,” that Jounce originally released for the project to benefit Mulcahy, after the sudden death of his wife Melissa in 2009. Mulcahy and Jounce bass player Danny Tamberelli go way back, as Mulcahy wrote the theme song for the Nickelodeon cult classic TV show “The Adventures of Pete & Pete,” where Tamberelli played the beloved character “Little Pete.” Twenty percent of all album sales will be given to Mulcahy.

“I’m really excited to get our new material out there,” said Tamberelli of “Meet Me in the Middle.” “This is an EP we always wanted to make: it’s short, but it grabs you…in a good way. We’ve been playing some of the songs live for a little while now and they’ve definitely taken on lives of their own. And, to have it support Mark as well really means everything to us. Mark is an amazing musical force and someone I’m honored to have had the chance to work with.”
