Jounce will celebrate our 10th Anniversary on December 23rd at Mexicali Blues in Teaneck, NJ. We will be joined by many very special guests at this show, including our original keyboardist Dan Mallon, and good friends Brian Purwin, Ryan Abribat, Jamie Barnes, Lizzy Friel, Marc Hellriegel, Adam Gold, Ron Zampini and MC Xsederaw. For the third year in a row, we have teamed with the people of Cake Shop to present an entire afternoon of free entertainment, this year featuring 12, yes TWELVE, outstanding bands — our hand-picked selections of the best and brightest of today’s new music.

Fall Festivals Coming Up

catskillchillJounce is pleased to announce that we’ll be playing several amazing festivals this summer and fall. Things start off with the Snow Ridge Jam Fesival in Turin, NY on Saturday, August 28th. We then head to the Catskill Chill Festival in Hancock, NY, only two hours from New York City, on Saturday, September 11th. Other bands on the festival bill include Keller Williams, Soulive, Toubab Krewe and the Easy Star All-Stars.

Finally, Jounce plays Spaghettifest at Buffalo Gap Camp in Capon Bridge, WV on Saturday, September 25th. Visit our tour dates page for complete details! Also, Jambase.com is currently running a contest to give away two tickets to the Catskill Chill festival.

Jounce Summer Festivals & Summer Downloads

It’s getting hot in New York, and Jounce is gearing up for a busy summer. Of course, summer starts with Memorial Day weekend. This weekend you can find the band the Better Farm 40th Anniversary in Redwood, NY on Saturday, May 29th. Jounce will also return to one of the best small music festivals on the east coast, the StrangeCreek Festival in Greenfield, MA, on Sunday, May 30th.

On Saturday, June 12th, Jounce is honored to perform at the Hampshire College 40th Anniversary celebration at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. Our bass player, Danny Tamberelli, is a Hampshire alum, and the performance schedule includes other alumni bands like the amazing jazz/funk trio Soulive and comedian Eugene Mirman.

We’re also happy to let you know that we’ve added a few new live shows for download via Archive.org. Check out new downloads, including April 3rd, 2010 at the Mercury Lounge in NY and November 17th, 2009 from Cameo in Brooklyn, NY. Of course, if you like what you hear, please help support the band by buying our studio albums on iTunes, Amazon.com or directly through the band via PayPal.

We are in the midst of finalizing work on a new four-song EP that we hope to have to you all soon. In the meantime, enjoy the summer sun!
